How do I delete my account, and what happens to my data?

Your Privacy Rights · Updated September 23, 2026

There is no delete button inside the app. Cancel any recurring plan first with Manage Billing under Your Plan in Settings, then email help@legiit.com, or use the form at Contact Support, and ask for your account to be closed and deleted. A person on the Legiit team does it, and your account data is deleted within 30 days.

Steps

  1. Export anything you want to keep. Open a search from Search History, click Export CSV ▾ and pick Full Lead Data (Generic). The file downloads straight away. Once the account is deleted, the leads go with it and cannot be recovered. See how to export your leads.
  2. Cancel your plan. In Settings, under Your Plan, click Manage Billing. That opens Stripe's billing portal, where your payment method, invoices and cancellation are handled, and it returns you to Settings when you are done. See how to cancel your subscription.
  3. Ask us to close the account. Email help@legiit.com or use the form at Contact Support. Say that you want the account closed and deleted, and give the email address you sign in with.
  4. Answer the verification step. We may ask you to verify that you own the account before we act, and we respond within 30 days.
Cancelling stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. It does not refund charges you have already paid, and it does not delete anything on its own. Step 3 is what starts the deletion.

If you do not see Manage Billing, the plan is not yours to cancel. On a team seat the Your Plan card shows one line, Your plan is managed by the account owner., and an account set up through another agency's signup page shows Your plan is billed by your provider. Contact them to change or cancel. Neither has plan buttons, so ask the owner or that agency. A lifetime account has no recurring subscription to cancel either. See why Manage Billing or Switch Plan is missing.

What happens to your data

Your data is kept while your account is active. If you close your account, or ask us to, we delete your account data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep specific records, for example billing records.

Deleting the account takes your whole workspace with it. Searches, leads, drafts, pipeline deals, clients, connected settings and your profile all hang off the account, so they are removed together. There is no undo and no copy held back for you, which is why step 1 matters.

The Terms put it the same way: you may close your account at any time, and on termination your right to use the service ends, with deletion handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Good to know

  • Under GDPR this is the "right to be forgotten", listed on the GDPR Statement page. See how to exercise your GDPR rights.
  • If you only want the emails to stop, you do not need to close the account. Clear the digest checkbox in Settings instead. See the morning pipeline digest.
  • If you are on a team seat, the account owner controls the workspace. Ask them to remove your seat, which deletes the seat and its login.
