How do I get an email address for a lead so it shows in the Outreach Queue?

The Outreach Queue · Updated September 23, 2026

Open the lead and click 🎯 Hunt Owner in its Decision-Maker section (Re-Hunt if the lead already has a contact name). If Owner Hunter finds the owner's own email address, that address becomes the lead's sending address, it is checked against its mail server, and the lead shows in the Outreach Queue on its own, with no need for Show Them Anyway. If the hunt finds no address, type one you know with ✎ Edit Details.

Steps

  1. Open the lead. From the Queue, click Show Them Anyway on the Showing line, go to the lead, and click Open In Pipeline above its name: the lead opens in the Pipeline. You can also open any lead straight from the Pipeline or from your search results.
  2. In the lead panel, find Decision-Maker, below Outreach Activity, and click 🎯 Hunt Owner. If the lead already has a contact name, the button reads Re-Hunt instead: click that to search the site again. The button only appears when the lead has a website.
  3. When the hunt finishes, the person's name and role show in Decision-Maker, with their email address when one was found. That address is now the lead's sending address, and the lead header shows it with (verified) or (unverified).
  4. Open Outreach Queue from the sidebar. The lead is now listed with the others.

If the hunt finds no email address

  • No decision-maker could be confidently identified on their site. means Owner Hunter could not name anyone. See why Owner Hunter finds no decision-maker.
  • The hunt can name a person without finding their email. The name is saved and your emails greet them by first name, but the lead still has no address.
  • An address that looks like a placeholder, such as user@domain.com, is never made the sending address.
  • A lead with no website shows No website to hunt on. instead of the button.

In any of these cases, add an address you know yourself:

  1. Click ✎ Edit Details in the lead header.
  2. Type the address in Email and click Save Details.
  3. It becomes the sending address and is checked against its mail server when you save.

Placeholder-style addresses such as user@domain.com are refused, and so is anything that is not a valid address. See why an Edit Details change is refused.

Good to know

  • A lead with an address is listed only while it still has something to do: it is not won or lost, and it has no emails drafted yet, a draft to approve, or an approved email you still have to send yourself.
  • (unverified) means the address failed the mail-server check. The lead still shows in the Queue, but Autopilot checks the address again before each send and skips it while the check fails. See what a failed mail-server check means.
  • Owner Hunter is included on every plan and does not use your monthly searches.
