What are the agency type buttons on New Search?

Choosing Problems · Updated September 22, 2026

The row of buttons above the problem cards narrows the 28 problem filters down to the ones your kind of agency sells. All Agency Types shows every card, and each of the 8 agency types shows only its own. The buttons only change which cards you can see: they never change which businesses a search finds, and anything you have already ticked stays ticked.

The 8 agency types

Hover over a button to see its short description, shown here in brackets. The number is how many problem cards the button shows.

Switching between types

  • Click a button to show its cards. Click All Agency Types to see all 28 again.
  • Problems you ticked stay ticked when you switch, even when their cards are now hidden. The count on the Search button, for example Search (3 problems), includes them.
  • One problem can sit under several types. Slow Website, for example, appears under both SEO Agency and Web Design / Dev. Ticking it under one type ticks it everywhere, and it only counts once.

Why one type is already selected

Each time New Search opens, it checks the agency types turned on in the Your Agency card in Settings:

  • If exactly one type is on, New Search opens on that type.
  • If two or more are on, or none, it opens on All Agency Types.
  • New accounts start with SEO Agency on, so New Search opens on SEO Agency until you change it.

To change where the page opens:

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar and find the Your Agency card.
  2. Click the agency types to turn them on (purple) or off.
  3. Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

Picking a different button on New Search does not change your Settings, so the next time you open the page it starts on your Settings choice again.

Good to know

When New Search opens with problems already ticked for you, for example when you clone a won deal or start from a playbook, some of those problems may sit under a different type from the one shown. Click All Agency Types to see every ticked card before you search.
