Why is my search stuck on running?
A search sits on Running while every website it found is audited live, and only one search's audit pass runs at a time, so yours can be waiting behind a search that started before it. Leads appear in the table as each audit finishes, and the results page refreshes itself every few seconds. Leave it open and the leads will fill in.
What you will see
While the search is working, the results page shows the subtitle "Searching Google Places and auditing every website live. Leads appear as they finish…" (a list you imported says "Auditing every website on your imported list live. Leads appear as they finish…") and rows drop in one at a time rather than all at once.
On Search History and in the Recent Searches table on your Dashboard, the Leads column shows three dots instead of a number until the search finishes, and the status pill reads Running. That is normal, not a fault.
Why it can take a while
A search is not a list lookup. Legiit Leads pulls up to 60 businesses from Google Places, then visits each one's website and checks it in real time. A business with a slow or unresponsive site holds its own row up, and the whole pass only moves as fast as the sites it is reading.
Because audits are run one search at a time, a second search you start (or a scheduled scan already under way) waits its turn and then begins on its own. You do not need to do anything to release it.
If the search ends with an interruption message
A search cannot carry on after Legiit Leads restarts. When Legiit Leads starts up again, it closes out the searches that were left part way through. They get the status Error and this message:
"This search was interrupted by a server restart before it finished. The leads it had already found are kept. Run it again for the full list."
A search that had only just started when the restart happened can keep showing Running instead, and it will not pick up where it left off.
The leads it had already found stay in your account. Run the same search again from New Search to get the full list.
A search that shows Running for a long time is usually queued, not broken. If it has not moved for 20 minutes, run it again from New Search and delete the old one from Search History.
