Why does a lead have no Google rank badge?

The usual reasons

• The website is not in the top 100. The check reads Google's top 100 regular results only. A site further down, or one that does not rank for that search at all, gets no badge.
• The lead has no website. The rank is matched on the website's domain, so a business with only a Google Maps listing cannot have one. It can still get a map pack verdict: open the lead and look for the Local map pack row, which reads In the pack or Not in the pack.
• A different domain ranks. The match uses the domain of the website saved on the lead. If the business ranks with another website of its own, that position is not linked to the lead.
• The rank check did not run for that search. Then no lead in the search has a badge, and the lead panel shows neither a Google rank nor a Local map pack row. If the check fails, your search still completes normally, just without rank data.
• The list was imported. Lists added with Resurrect a List never get a rank check.
• The search is still running. Badges are added at the end, just before the search shows complete.

A map pack row but no badge

The map pack check matches business names, not websites. So in a search where the check ran, every lead gets a map pack verdict, even one without a website or outside the top 100. Those leads show a Local map pack row in the lead panel but no badge in the results table.

Good to know

• Rank badges are not added to a search later. Running a new search takes a fresh snapshot of Google's results.
