What does the Domain registered row tell me?

Where the date comes from

One lookup, made while the audit reads the site, asks the domain's public registry for its registration date and its expiry date together. The lookup is best effort and waits up to 6 seconds. If the registry does not answer, or its record has no registration date, the lead has no date and no row, because Legiit Leads never guesses one.

The lookup asks about the domain the business actually registered, for example smithdental.com for www.smithdental.com. When a site lives on a website builder's address such as smithdental.wixsite.com, the date that comes back belongs to wixsite.com, not to the business.

How to read it

• It is a date only. There is no day count, which is what tells it apart from Domain expires.
• It is always green, whether the domain is 20 years old or 3 months old. Neither is treated as a problem.
• The date is the domain's, not the business's. It says when that web address was registered, so a long-established business that moved to a new address recently still shows a recent date.

Where it does not appear

The row is only on the lead, in the Live Website Audit. Your prospect's proof page does not show the registration date, AI-written emails are never given it, and it never adds a pill to Detected Problems or moves the opportunity score.

If the row is missing

The registry lookup only runs when the audit reached the website, so a lead with no website, an unreachable site or a site behind bot protection has no date at all. Every fresh audit asks the registry again, so a date that was missing can appear later.
