Why does a lead's website show as Unreachable?
Unreachable means the audit could not get a working homepage from the lead's website. Legiit Leads tries the secure HTTPS address first, waiting up to 10 seconds, and then the plain HTTP address. When neither returns a working page, the Website row reads Unreachable and no other website checks run.
What the audit tries
- The HTTPS address, waiting up to 10 seconds for an answer.
- If that cannot connect or times out, the plain HTTP address, again for up to 10 seconds.
- If the site turns a request away as blocked or unavailable, the audit asks once more as a different everyday browser before giving up.
A site that answers with an error instead of its homepage, such as a server error or a page-not-found reply, also counts as unreachable.
When only the secure address fails
- If HTTPS refuses the connection or has a broken certificate but plain HTTP works, the site is audited as normal and the lead gets the Not secure (no SSL) problem.
- If HTTPS only timed out and plain HTTP works, SSL is not judged either way. The lead does not get Not secure (no SSL) and your AI emails do not mention SSL, even though the SSL / HTTPS row can still read Missing: shows 'Not Secure'.
What an unreachable lead gets
- The Live Website Audit shows only the Website row, plus the Google rank or Local map pack row when there is ranking data for the search.
- No email address can be picked up from the website, because it was not read.
- Under Detected Problems, only problems that do not need the website can appear: Low star rating, Few Google reviews and Incomplete GBP from the Google listing, and No AI-search presence when the AI check did not name the business. See when listing problems apply.

If the site loads for you
Websites go down or slow to a crawl for a while, so the site may simply have been down at the time of the search. Opening the lead's proof page runs the audit again, at most once every 10 minutes, and that includes clicking Preview in the lead's Proof Page (public, white-label) section. If the site answers this time, the full audit replaces Unreachable. Reload the page and reopen the lead to see it.
