Who is responsible for outreach my team members send?
You are, as the account owner. The Terms say that each user you invite into your workspace must comply with the Terms, and that the account owner is responsible for all activity by invited users, including their outreach and their use of connected services. A seat holder writing a careless email is your problem, not theirs.
What the Terms put on you
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 and use the service for business purposes only.
- Every invited user must comply with the Terms, and you are responsible for all their activity, including their outreach and their use of connected services.
- The outreach obligations sit with the account as a whole. Compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PECR, CASL and similar laws is yours to make sure of, whoever pressed the button. See can I cold email the businesses Legiit Leads finds.
What that means day to day
Seat holders work inside your workspace. They see the same leads, clients and queue, their searches and sends count against your plan, and billing stays yours alone. Mailboxes, call tracking and other services connected to the account are used by them under your name, so anything sent from them reads as coming from your agency.
What a seat cannot do is unpick the setup behind that. Your Twilio connection for Call Tracking and your Legiit marketplace connection can only be connected or disconnected by you, SaaS Mode plans can only be added or retired by you, and billing and the seats themselves stay with you. A seat who needs one of those changed has to ask you.
Worth doing before you hand out a login:
- Tell your team the outreach rules you expect: no misleading claims about who they are, no pressure, and stop the moment someone asks.
- Agree who checks replies, so an unsubscribe gets handled promptly.
- Remove a seat as soon as someone leaves, so nothing goes out under your account after they are gone.
Plan and seats
Team seats need Agency Pro or Agency Empire, with 5 seats on each. In Settings, the Team Seats card carries a Pro badge, shows how many seats are used, and has the Invite button. See how to invite a team member.
