Can I cold email the businesses Legiit Leads finds for me?

What you agree to

The Acceptable Use section of the Terms and Conditions says you agree not to:

• Send unlawful, deceptive or unsolicited bulk communications. You are solely responsible for making sure your outreach complies with the laws that apply to you and your recipients, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PECR, CASL and similar laws.
• Use the service to harass any person or business, or misrepresent who you are in outreach the platform helps you prepare.

Accounts that break those rules may be suspended or terminated.

If you write to businesses in the EEA or UK

The GDPR Statement spells out your side of it. When you contact leads in the EEA or UK you are the controller of that outreach. You need a lawful basis, typically legitimate interest for relevant business to business outreach, you must identify yourself honestly, and you must honor opt-outs promptly. The evidence behind each lead helps make your outreach relevant, but it does not replace your own compliance obligations.

The same split applies to the messages themselves: emails you send through a connected mailbox and replies captured into your workspace are processed on your instructions, with you as controller and Legiit Leads as processor. You own the content you write and the outreach you send.

In practice

• Write because of something you actually found on that business, and say what it was.
• Say who you are and which agency you are writing from. Never pretend to be someone else.
• Act on a request to stop the first time you get it. See what to do if a business asks you to stop.
• Keep your volumes sane and your list clean. Nothing in the product exempts you from the rules where you or your prospect are based.

Legiit Leads cannot tell you which laws apply in your country or your prospect's. If a campaign is large or the rules are unclear to you, take your own legal advice before you start.
