How do I make the AI use my template for a day of the sequence?
On the Email Templates page, find your saved template and click Day 0, Day 3 or Day 7 next to Use as the AI's skeleton for:. When you draft a 3-touch sequence in the Outreach Queue, the AI keeps that template's structure, rhythm and sign-off for that day and fills it with each lead's real audit evidence.
Set it on the Email Templates page
- Click Email Templates in the sidebar. The template must be saved under My Templates first. See how to create or add a template.
- On the template's card, next to Use as the AI's skeleton for:, click Day 0 (the opener), Day 3 (the bump) or Day 7 (the breakup).
- The pill turns solid purple. It saves straight away, with no save button.
Each day has one template at a time: clicking Day 3 on another card moves the Day 3 default to that template. One template can be the skeleton for more than one day. To stop using a template for a day, click its purple pill again.
Or set it in Settings
- Open Settings and find the Writing Style card.
- Under Sequence defaults per day, pick a saved template in the dropdown for Day 0, Day 3 or Day 7, or No template (AI writes it).
- Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.
This is the same setting as the pills on the Email Templates page. The box next to each dropdown takes a short note that steers that day's email, for example two lines max.
Or choose for one lead in the Outreach Queue
When a lead has no sequence yet and you have at least one saved template, the Outreach Queue shows Day 0 template, Day 3 template and Day 7 template dropdowns above ✦ Draft 3-Touch Sequence.
- Each dropdown starts on Default: followed by the template's title when you have set a default for that day, or on No template (AI writes it) when you have not.
- Pick a different template, or No template (AI writes it) to skip your default, for this draft only. Your defaults do not change.
After drafting, each email has a Rewrite this touch: dropdown next to Regenerate This Touch, so you can rewrite one email with a different template or none. An email built from a template reads Rewrite this touch (currently from a saved template):. See how to regenerate one email.
What the AI does with your template
{name},{business},{city},{niche},{your_name},{agency},{proof_link}and{booking_link}are filled in with the lead's and your details before the AI starts.- The AI is told to keep the template's paragraph order, sentence rhythm and sign-off, and to stay within 20% of its length.
- Any other slot, such as
{seconds}or{free_tip}, is replaced with a verified fact from the lead's audit. If a slot cannot be filled, the draft is flagged for you to edit. See why a draft says it still contains a placeholder. - If the template's main point is not backed up by the lead's audit, the AI keeps the structure but leads with the strongest fact that is verified.
- The AI is always told to name the service that fixes the lead's main problem at least once in the sequence (adding a sentence if your template has no place for it) and to name it with its price in the Day 7 email. It takes those names and prices from My Services in Settings. With no Active service saved, it falls back to whatever you wrote in Anything else about your offer (optional) on the Your Agency card, and if that box is empty too it can only describe your offer in general terms, with no service name or price.
- Your Writing Style rules still apply.
Good to know
- Templates shape the 3-touch sequences you draft in the Outreach Queue. ✦ Write With AI, which you see when you open a lead, does not use them.
- Deleting a template also removes it as a day default.
