How do I create my own email template or change one I saved?
On the Email Templates page, click + New Template, fill in Title, Subject and Body, and click Save Template. You can also click Add To My Templates on any Starter Library card to save a copy. To change a saved template, click Edit on its card, make your changes and click Save Changes.
Create a template from scratch
- Click Email Templates in the sidebar.
- Click + New Template at the top of the page. While the form is open, the button reads Cancel.
- Enter a Title (your name for the template, shown on its card and in the template dropdowns), a Subject and the Body. You can use slots such as
{name}and{business}. See what the placeholders mean. - Click Save Template. It stays greyed out until Title and Body both have text. Subject is optional.
The new template appears first under My Templates.
Add one from the Starter Library
Scroll down to Starter Library, find the email you want and click Add To My Templates. Its title, subject and body are saved under My Templates, and the library card's button changes to Added ✓. See what is in the Starter Library.
Installing a playbook from the Playbook Market also adds that playbook's email templates to My Templates, with the playbook's name in brackets after each title.
What a saved template can do
Each card under My Templates shows the title, the subject and the first few lines of the body, with these controls:
- Edit: reopens the template in the form at the top of the page so you can change the title, subject or body.
- Copy: puts the whole email on your clipboard, starting with a
Subject:line. - Delete: removes the template.
- Day 0, Day 3 and Day 7 under Use as the AI's skeleton for:. See how to make the AI use your template.
Delete works straight away, with no confirmation and no undo. If the template was a Day 0, Day 3 or Day 7 skeleton, that day goes back to having no template.
Change a saved template
- On the template's card, click Edit. The page scrolls to the top and the form opens with the title, subject and body already filled in.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save Changes. While you are editing, that button reads Save Changes instead of Save Template.
The template keeps its place as a Day 0, Day 3 or Day 7 skeleton, so you do not need to click the pill again. Emails already drafted from the template are not changed.
To back out without saving, click Cancel at the top of the page. That is the + New Template button, which reads Cancel while the form is open.
