How do I make the AI write in my voice?
Open Settings, fill in the Writing Style card, and click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. The AI follows these rules on every outreach email, sequence and reply draft it writes for you, so drafts sound like you and need less editing.
Steps
- Click Settings in the sidebar and scroll to the Writing Style card, just below My Services.
- Fill in the fields you want (every field is optional, see below).
- Click Save Settings at the very bottom of the page and wait for Saved ✓ beside it.
The fields
- Voice: how you sound, in your own words. For example: blunt, first person, short sentences, no exclamation marks, British spelling. Up to 400 characters.
- Greeting: the exact opening line, such as
Hi {first name},. The AI puts in the decision-maker's first name when the lead has one, and keeps the greeting natural without a name when it does not. Up to 120 characters. - Preferred call to action: the only call to action the AI will use, such as "Reply with one word and I will send the plan". It applies to cold emails, sequences and reply drafts. Up to 300 characters.
- Signature (used exactly as written): the block every email ends with, word for word. With no signature, the AI signs off with your name from Your Agency. Up to 400 characters.
- Phrases to never use (comma separated): for example
I hope this finds you well, quick question, circle back. Up to 20 phrases, each up to 60 characters. - Max words per cold email: a number from 40 to 200 (a number outside that range is saved as the nearest limit). Leave it empty and sequence emails stay at 60 to 120 words each, and the single cold email on a lead at 90 to 130. A sequence day that uses a template follows the template's length instead. It does not apply to reply drafts.
- Anything else the AI should always do or avoid: any other rule, in plain words. Up to 600 characters.
Sequence defaults per day
At the bottom of the card, each day of a 3-touch sequence (Day 0, Day 3 and Day 7) has two controls:
- A drop-down to pick one of your saved templates as that day's skeleton, or No template (AI writes it). The AI keeps the template's structure and fills in the lead's evidence. See using a template as the AI's skeleton.
- A note that steers that day, such as "lead with the strongest fact" or "two lines max". Up to 300 characters.
These only shape 3-touch sequences, not the single cold email on a lead.
Good to know
- In cold emails and sequences, Legiit Leads' own rules still come first: the AI only cites verified facts, keeps subject lines under 7 words and names the service from My Services that fixes the problem. No AI draft ever contains an em dash.
- Em dashes you type into these boxes are replaced when you save.
- Longer text is cut to the character limits above when you save.
- Drafts already written keep their wording. To get one in your updated style, click Regenerate on the lead's cold email, or Regenerate This Touch on a sequence email in the Outreach Queue.
- Writing Style belongs to the whole workspace, so a team member who saves it changes it for everyone.
