How do I edit or regenerate one email without redoing the whole sequence?

The Outreach Queue · Updated September 22, 2026

Open the email's day tab in the Outreach Queue, change the subject or body right there, and click Save Edits. To have the AI rewrite only that email, choose a template (or none) next to Rewrite this touch and click Regenerate This Touch. The other days stay exactly as they are, and an email that has already gone out cannot be edited or regenerated.

Edit an email yourself

  1. In the Outreach Queue, go to the lead and click the day's tab, for example Day 3: Bump.
  2. Change the subject line in the top box and the email in the larger box below it.
  3. Click Save Edits. The email keeps its status: a draft stays a draft, and an approved email stays approved.

You can edit an approved email until it goes out. Outreach Autopilot sends the text as you last saved it.

Unsaved edits are handled like this:

  • Clicking another day's tab saves your edits first.
  • Moving to another lead with ← Prev, Next → or Open In Pipeline asks This draft has unsaved edits. Leave without saving them?
  • Leaving the Queue from the sidebar does not ask, so click Save Edits before you go.
  • The approve buttons, such as Approve + Copy and Approve + Gmail, save your edits as part of approving.

Have the AI rewrite one email

  1. Click the day's tab.
  2. In the dropdown next to Rewrite this touch, choose what the AI should work from. The first option is your Writing Style default for that day (shown as Default: and the template's name), or No template (AI writes it) if you have no default. You can also pick any saved template.
  3. Click Regenerate This Touch. It shows Rewriting… while the AI works.

The new subject and body replace that day's email, including any edits you made to it. Other days are not changed.

  • The rewritten email comes back as a draft, even if it was approved or skipped before, so approve it again when it is ready.
  • When the email was built on a saved template, the row reads Rewrite this touch (currently from a saved template). The dropdown still starts on your Writing Style default, so choose that template again if you want to keep it.
  • A rewritten opener still carries the lead's proof page link. If the AI leaves it out, it is added as a P.S.

Emails that already went out

Once a day has been sent, by Autopilot or with Mark As Sent, its tab shows · sent, the subject and body are locked, Save Edits disappears and Regenerate This Touch is greyed out with the tooltip Already sent. The text stays as the record of what the prospect received. The days that have not gone out can still be edited and regenerated.
