How do I start a new search from the Dashboard?

Steps

1. Sign in. The Dashboard is the first page you land on and the first entry in the sidebar; New Search is the entry right below it.
2. Look at the top right of the page, on the same line as the Dashboard heading, and click + New Search.
3. The New Search page opens with the subtitle Pick the problems you can fix. We find local businesses that verifiably have them. Set up your search there.

On a phone or a zoomed-in browser

On a phone, or a desktop browser zoomed in past about 200 percent, the sidebar is hidden behind a ☰ Menu button in the bar across the top of the screen. The + New Search button on the Dashboard still works exactly the same. To take the sidebar route instead, tap ☰ Menu, then New Search in the drawer that slides in. What stops you

• No plan yet. A banner above the page reads Your account is not on a plan yet, so searches are locked. with the line Pick a plan and your first 7 days are free. Cancel anytime before day 7 and pay nothing. Click its Choose Your Plan button to open Settings and pick a plan. Searches unlock once you are on one.
• Brand new account on a plan. While your account has run 0 searches, the Dashboard opens the onboarding wizard instead of waiting for you to click + New Search. Answer its 3 questions and it runs your first real search for you. See How does the onboarding wizard find my first leads?.
• Searches or AI features are temporarily unavailable on our side. A purple box with that line above the cards means something on our side is not working, so searches or the AI features may be unavailable. There is nothing to fix on your side: the box tells you to email help@legiit.com if this lasts more than a few minutes.

Good to know

• Once you are on a plan, the bottom of the sidebar shows a searches meter that counts your searches this month against your plan's allowance, worded as 12 of 50 searches this month when you have used 12 of 50. See What is the searches meter at the bottom of the sidebar?.
• The dark Your hunting so far strip on the Dashboard reads Every search includes full live audits at no extra cost. Your plan meter lives in the sidebar.
