Why does the audit say Bot protection blocked the audit?

How the audit recognises a protection page

• The page carries the marks of a security service such as Cloudflare, Imperva Incapsula, Sucuri or DDoS-Guard, or phrases such as checking your browser, verify you are human or enable javascript and cookies to continue.
• It also has a challenge-style title, or almost no readable text. A normal page that happens to mention those words is still audited.

If the site turns the first request away as blocked or unavailable, Legiit Leads asks once more as a different everyday browser. If what comes back is a protection page, the audit stops. It never tries to get past the check itself.

What you see on the lead

• The Website row reads Bot protection blocked the audit; nothing claimed. It is green rather than red, because it is not a problem with the business. Hover over it to see the evidence: the site answered with a bot-protection page, so nothing on the page could be checked.
• No other website rows appear, and no email address is picked up from the site. The Google rank or Local map pack row still appears when there is ranking data.
• Under Detected Problems, only problems from outside the website can appear: Low star rating, Few Google reviews and Incomplete GBP from the Google listing, and No AI-search presence when the AI check did not name the business. See when listing problems apply.
• Your AI emails say nothing about the website's tools, speed or security.
• The automatic Google PageSpeed check after a search skips these leads, and running ⚡ Get Google's Official Score yourself does not add website problems while the audit is blocked.

If only an inner page is protected

When the homepage loads normally but a contact, about or booking page shows a protection page, only that page is dropped. The rest of the audit runs as usual. See which pages the audit checks.

What you can do

• Open the website yourself to see it as a visitor would, and check anything by hand before you mention it to the prospect.
• Pitch from the listing problems the lead does have.
• The audit runs again whenever the lead's proof page is opened, at most once every 10 minutes. If the protection lets it through then, the full audit replaces this result.
