Does my own Preview of a lead's proof page count as an open?
No. Opening a lead's proof page with the Preview button does not count as an open, so it does not add to the lead's open count, light the 🔥 read their audit flame in the Outreach Queue or send you a reading alert. Only visits from the link you send are tracked.
Preview and Copy Link
Both buttons are in the Proof Page (public, white-label) section of the lead panel.
- Preview opens the proof page in a new browser tab, as the prospect sees it. The website checks re-run the same way they do when the prospect opens it. See why the checks re-run.
- Copy Link copies the link to send to the prospect, and the button briefly reads ✓ Copied. Copying the link records nothing.
Good to know
- Legiit Leads cannot tell who opened the plain link. If you paste the link you copied into your own browser, or click it in a test email you sent yourself, that visit counts like the prospect's: it adds to the open count, lights the flame and can send you the reading alert. Use Preview whenever you only want to look.
- An open cannot be taken off the count once it is recorded, so the 👀 Opened 3 times line in the lead panel includes any visit of yours made through the plain link.
