Why are a lead's drafts read-only in the Outreach Queue?
A draft is read-only in the Outreach Queue for one of two reasons. Either that email already went out, so its text is kept as the record of what was sent, or the lead is marked won or lost, which makes all of its drafts read-only. To keep working a won or lost lead, click Open In Pipeline and change its status.
When the email already went out
Once an email is sent, by Autopilot or because you clicked Mark As Sent, it stops being a draft:
- Its subject and text can no longer be changed.
- Regenerate This Touch is greyed out, and hovering over it shows Already sent.
- The buttons to approve, copy, open it in your mail app, Save Edits and Skip Touch are gone.
- A green line shows how and when it went: ✓ Sent from your inbox with the date, or ✓ Sent by Autopilot with the mailbox it went from and the date.
- Its day tab reads, for example, Day 0: Opener · sent.
The other emails in the sequence that have not gone out yet stay editable. Click their day tabs to work on them.
When the lead is marked won or lost
The Queue shows This lead is marked won; its drafts are read-only here. (or lost) and hides the buttons to approve, copy, open in your mail app, Save Edits and Skip Touch. Won and lost leads are not listed in the Queue on their own, so you normally see one only when you open it on purpose, for example with Open Drafts → on its Pipeline card. Autopilot does not send anything to a won or lost lead either.
To keep working the lead:
- Click Open In Pipeline above the lead's name. The lead opens in the Pipeline.
- In the lead panel, click another status in the row of status buttons, such as Contacted or Replied. You can also drag the lead's card out of the Won or Lost column into another column.
- Go back to Outreach Queue. As long as the lead has an email address and something left to do, it is listed again and its drafts can be edited.
