How does wholesale billing work when I resell the platform?

The two sides of the money

Your customer pays you. Their subscription is created on your connected Stripe account at your retail price. The money lands in your Stripe balance and pays out to your bank on your Stripe schedule. Legiit Leads never touches it.

You pay Legiit Leads wholesale. Your own Agency Empire subscription carries a seat line for each wholesale tier, and the quantity on that line is simply the number of active sub-accounts you have on that tier. Nothing separate to pay and no second invoice: the seats ride on the subscription you already have.

The difference between the two is your margin, and it shows on the SaaS Mode card as a running total: your number of active sub-accounts, then your monthly retail, your monthly wholesale and your monthly margin.

When the count is updated

The seat quantities are trued up right after each successful signup, and again once a day in the background. That daily pass also checks each sub-account's subscription on your Stripe and updates whether it still counts as active.

• A new sub-account raises the quantity on its tier's seat line, or adds the line if it is your first on that tier.
• A sub-account that stops being active (its subscription with you goes past due, unpaid or cancelled) drops out of the count on the next daily pass and the quantity falls.
• When a tier's count reaches zero, the seat line is removed altogether, with a proration.

The seats ride on your own Legiit Leads subscription. If your account has no Stripe subscription at all, there is nothing for the seats to sit on and none are added.

Retired plans still cost you

Retiring a plan only takes it off your signup page. Sub-accounts that are already on a retired plan keep working, keep paying you, and keep costing you their tier's wholesale seat for as long as they stay active. The seat count looks at the tier every active sub-account is on, whether or not that plan is still on sale.

Doing the maths

The SaaS Mode card puts it plainly: Three clients at $297 (or four at $197) and the plan pays for itself; everything after is margin.

Work it per account. A Basic tier account sold at $197 a month costs you $47, leaving about $150. A Plus tier account sold at $297 costs you $97, leaving about $200. Your Settings card shows the same margin figure next to each plan you have listed.
