What happens when one of my SaaS Mode sub-accounts stops paying?

SaaS Mode · Updated September 23, 2026Agency Empire

Once a day Legiit Leads reads every sub-account's subscription from your own Stripe account. Anything other than active or trialing suspends that sub-account: the customer keeps everything they already have but cannot run a new search, import a list or run a map heatmap scan, and your wholesale seat for them drops away so you stop paying for it. When their payment clears in Stripe, the next daily check turns them back on.

How the daily check works

The check runs once a day, at 12:00 UTC. For each sub-account it asks your Stripe for the current subscription status and copies it across:

  • active or trialing: the sub-account stays active.
  • past_due or unpaid: the sub-account is marked past due, and suspended.
  • Anything else, including a cancelled subscription: the sub-account is marked cancelled, and suspended.

If Stripe cannot be reached for one subscription, that sub-account keeps its last known status until the next day's check.

What a suspended customer sees

They can still sign in and open what they already have: their leads, past searches, proof pages, templates and pipeline are untouched. Three things stop. When they start a new search, import a list or run a map heatmap scan, they get this message instead:

"This account's subscription isn't active (past due or canceled). Contact your provider to restore access."

That is the only thing the app tells them about the suspension. If they open Settings, their plan card just reads "Your plan is billed by your provider. Contact them to change or cancel." Either way they come to you, not to us.

What it does to your wholesale bill

Only sub-accounts whose status is active count as wholesale seats. Right after each daily check, the seat quantities on your Legiit Leads subscription are set to the number of active sub-accounts in each tier, and Stripe prorates the change, so a suspended account stops costing you $47 or $97 a month.

The SaaS Mode card in Settings counts the same way. The line under your plans counts your active sub-accounts and shows the retail, wholesale and margin totals beside it, and a suspended account drops out of all four numbers the next time the card loads.

Turning an account back on

There is nothing to switch back on inside Legiit Leads. Get the customer to fix the payment on your side, by updating their card or paying the open invoice in your Stripe. Once Stripe reports that subscription as active or trialing again, the next daily check restores their access and puts the wholesale seat back.

Nothing is deleted while a sub-account is suspended. Their leads, searches and history are all still there when they come back.
