What CSV format does Resurrect a List accept?

Resurrect a List accepts any comma-separated (CSV) file whose first line is a header row. Only a business name column is required; a website column and a phone column are optional, and every other column is ignored. Up to 200 rows run in one import.

A file that works

This is the example shown in the paste box:

Header line: business,website,phone
Data line: Bright Smile Dental,brightsmile.com,(555) 123-4567

Name your headers so the pickers find them on their own. A header containing business, company or name is picked for the business name (business and company are tried first, so a Business column wins over a Contact Name column). A header containing website, url, domain or web is picked for the website, and one containing phone, tel or mobile for the phone. You can always change the pickers by hand.

What the page handles for you

Cells wrapped in double quotes, including commas, line breaks and doubled quotes ("") inside them.
Line endings from Windows, Mac or Linux.
Blank rows: they are skipped and not counted.
Header cells left empty: they show in the pickers as Column 1, Column 2 and so on, numbered by position.
Rows with no business name: they are skipped when you click Resurrect N Rows, so you can get back fewer leads than the button says.

How websites are read

An address that starts with http:// or https:// is used as it is.
A bare address such as brightsmile.com or www.brightsmile.com/contact gets https:// added.
A blank cell, a dash (-), or anything that does not look like a web address (for example N/A) counts as no website, and the lead gets the No website problem.

Limits

200 rows per import. If your file has more, the page warns that only the first 200 will run. Split larger files into parts of 200 or fewer and import each part.
Business names longer than 200 characters and phone numbers longer than 40 are cut short.
Only commas separate columns. A file saved with semicolons or tabs between the columns shows up as a single column, so save it again as a comma-separated CSV.
📄 Choose CSV File only accepts .csv files, so save a spreadsheet as CSV first. You can also copy the CSV text and paste it into the box.
Email addresses in your file are not used. Emails come from the live audit of each website.
