Why does Settings say my Stripe account settles in a different currency?

Getting Paid · Updated September 22, 2026

The warning appears when the Currency you picked in the Your Agency card in Settings is different from the default currency of the Stripe account you connected under Get Paid. Legiit Leads never switches your currency for you, because that would relabel every price you have already set. If you charge your clients in the Stripe currency, switch Currency to match and click Save Settings; if you do not, you can leave it as it is.

What the warning says

It sits under the Currency menu and fills in your two currencies, for example: Your connected Stripe account settles in GBP. Prices here are in USD; switch to GBP if that is what you charge clients in. Existing proposals keep the currency they were published in.

It is only a notice. Legiit Leads does not block any payment because of it.

Switch your currency

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. In the Your Agency card, choose the currency your Stripe account settles in from the Currency menu. The warning disappears as soon as the two match.
  3. Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. The change is not kept until you save.

What the Currency setting controls

The note under the menu sums it up: it is used for proposals, reports and payments to your clients. Your Legiit Leads plan and the Legiit marketplace always bill in USD, whatever you pick here. See What currency am I billed in?

Prices are never converted when you switch. A service priced at 500 stays 500, now in the new currency, so check your My Services prices afterwards.

  • Published proposals keep their currency. A prospect who accepts and pays is charged in the currency the proposal was published in.
  • Publishing a proposal again uses your new currency. If you edit a live proposal and publish it again, it takes your current Currency and its prices keep the same numbers. Check them before you publish.
  • Retainer payment links charge in the Currency that was set when you created the link. After switching, create a new link from the client's Retainer Billing card if you want the new currency.

Good to know

The Currency menu offers USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD. If your Stripe account settles in any other currency, the warning stays whichever of these you choose.
