Why does SaaS Mode say "Connect Stripe first" or refuse to add a plan?

SaaS Mode · Updated September 23, 2026Agency Empire

SaaS Mode needs two things before it will sell anything: the Agency Empire plan, and a Stripe account of yours that is finished and able to take payments, because your customers pay you and not us. After that, the only thing that stops a plan being created is its price. Whatever is blocking you is written on the SaaS Mode card itself, or in red under the Add Plan row.

"Available on the Agency Empire plan ($497/mo). Upgrade above to unlock."

Your account is not on Agency Empire, so the SaaS Mode card shows that line in place of your signup link, your plans and the Add Plan form. In the Your Plan card near the top of Settings, click the Agency Empire $497/mo button under Switch Plan (Prorated Instantly). If your account is not on a plan at all, that row is not there: the same card shows the plan cards instead, so click Choose Agency Empire on the Agency Empire card. There is a third case. If your account is on a Lifetime plan, the card shows Lifetime with lifetime as the status beside it, and has neither the Switch Plan (Prorated Instantly) row nor the plan cards, so there is no way to move to Agency Empire from inside the app: email help@legiit.com to move onto it. Agency Pro does not unlock SaaS Mode, only Agency Empire does.

"Connect Stripe first (Get Paid card above) so clients can pay you."

You are on Empire but no Stripe account is connected yet. Scroll up to the Get Paid card on the same page and click Connect Stripe. Your customers' subscriptions are charged on your Stripe account, so there is nothing to set up until that exists.

"Finish your Stripe onboarding first (Settings, Get Paid)."

Stripe is connected, but Stripe has not yet cleared the account to take charges. The Get Paid card shows ONBOARDING INCOMPLETE with a Finish Stripe Setup button next to it.

  1. Click Finish Stripe Setup.
  2. Answer everything Stripe asks for and finish their checks.
  3. Come back to Settings. When the card reads ✓ STRIPE CONNECTED · payments enabled, plans can be added.

The price is refused

Price $/mo has two rules, and a new plan has to pass both.

  • It must cover the wholesale cost of the Tier you picked, which is $47 a month for Basic and $97 a month for Plus. Below that you get "Retail must be at least the wholesale cost ($47/mo for Basic). Selling below wholesale loses money."
  • It must be $97 a month or more whatever the tier. Below that you get "Price at $97/mo or above. Below that, resold accounts churn hardest (this is the documented cliff)."

Type the price in dollars, without a $ sign, for example 197.

Where the errors appear

Anything that goes wrong when you click Add Plan reports in one place: a short line in red underneath the Plan name, Price $/mo, Tier and Add Plan row. That is where the Stripe onboarding message and both price messages land. The Agency Empire line and the Connect Stripe first line are different: they sit in the body of the card, in place of the form.

If you are signed in on a team seat rather than as the account owner, the SaaS Mode card does not appear at all. Only the account owner sets up and manages SaaS Mode.
