How many heatmap scans do I get, and what happens when they run out?

What uses a heatmap scan

• On a lead: clicking 🗺 Scan Their Map Rank, or Rescan once a lead has a heatmap, in the Map-Pack Heatmap section. Each finished scan uses 1.
• On a client: if you are on Agency Pro or Agency Empire, clients draw on the same allowance. The map scan runs as part of Measure Now, as part of Build This Month's Report when the client has not been measured in the last 20 hours, and as part of the automatic monthly client report. Each of these uses 1 while you have scans left. See which plan you need for clients.

A scan that fails does not use one.

When the allowance runs out

• On a lead, the message appears in red under the Map-Pack Heatmap heading and no scan runs. A heatmap the lead already has stays as it was.
• On a client, the measurement and the report still go ahead, just without a new map scan. Nothing fails. The Map scan column in that client's Evidence Vault shows a dash for that measurement.

Because lead scans and client reports draw from the same allowance, once the month's scans are used up your client measurements and reports go without a fresh map until the 1st.

If your account is billed by another agency and your subscription with them is not active, no scan runs at all, however much of your allowance is left. 🗺 Scan Their Map Rank answers with This account's subscription isn't active (past due or canceled). Contact your provider to restore access. Ask that agency to put the billing right and your scans come back.

How the count works

• Scans are counted per calendar month from 00:00 UTC on the 1st. Unused scans do not roll over.
• Annual plans get the same monthly allowance as the monthly version of the plan.
• Lifetime accounts get 30 heatmap scans a month, the same as Agency.
• Scans run by team seats count against the account owner's allowance.
• If your account was set up through another agency's signup page, your allowance comes from the plan that agency resells you: 5 scans a month on their lower tier and 15 on their higher one. The same message names your own number when they run out, and it still resets on the 1st.
• There is no on-screen counter for heatmap scans. The meter in the sidebar counts searches only.

Get more scans this month

Open Settings and, in the Your Plan card, click a larger plan under Switch Plan (Prorated Instantly). The new allowance applies as soon as the switch is made, and scans you have already run this month still count.
