What does a prospect see when they check their website on my audit link?

Running the check

The box on the page reads yourwebsite.com. The Check My Website button stays greyed out until at least 4 characters have been typed, and reads Checking Live… while the checks run. Under the headline the page promises real tests, real results, in about 15 seconds.

Results appear under Live results for and the address the visitor typed. All 9 rows appear at once, each with a small spinner, and the Pass or Fail verdict fills in one row at a time, about 2 and a half rows a second, so the visitor watches the audit happen rather than being handed a finished list.

Pass shows in green, Fail in red. The speed row also shows the measured time in brackets, for example (1.4s).

Checks a site builder hides

Some platforms build their pages in the browser, so a check can come back neither proved nor disproved. On a public page that never counts against the business: the check is shown as a Pass, and Email capture on site and Online booking add the note Not checkable on this platform so nobody is accused of something that was only a guess.

The grade at the end

Once every row has its verdict, a bar appears with Grade: the letter and the score out of 100. Beside it the page says either how many checks failed and that it is fixable, or, for a clean result, that it was a strong result and a few advanced checks remain in the full report.

Copy Grade Link copies the address of a shareable grade page for that website, which the visitor (or you) can send to anyone. How the score is worked out is covered in How is the Lead Grade calculated?. The grade weighs up a few more checks than the 9 listed on screen, so a page can pass all 9 and still lose points.

The visitor only ever sees these free checks. Email addresses and social links picked up while reading the site are stripped out before the page is shown, so nothing harvested is handed back to them.
