Why a finding could not be confirmed

Many problems are about something missing from a website, such as a contact form, chat widget, online booking, analytics or a Meta pixel. The audit reads each site's code, and on some sites the code alone cannot prove that a thing is missing:

• The site is made with a site builder such as Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, Duda, GoDaddy's builder, Webflow or Shopify. These add forms, chat, booking, email signups and tracking while the page loads.
• The site uses Google Tag Manager, which can add chat, pixels and ad tags the same way.
• The site builds its pages with JavaScript, so its code shows very little until it runs in a browser.
• Only one page of the site could be read, or a page could only be partly read.

What happens next

1. After the search says complete, Google's PageSpeed test loads the websites of up to 25 leads that still have findings to settle, 2 at a time.
2. If Google's load confirms the problem, it moves into Problems Detected as a pill and counts toward the score. If the load shows the thing is there after all, the finding disappears. If the load settles nothing, the finding stays under Worth a look, not verified.
3. The lead stays in your results either way. Reload the results page after a few minutes to see the changes, because the page stops refreshing itself once the search is complete.
