Why does my domain still say WAITING FOR DNS or "Not pointing at us yet"?
It means the check could not see your subdomain pointing at us yet. Legiit Leads looks your domain up live every time you claim it or click Check DNS, and it passes when the subdomain's CNAME record points at the address shown in the DNS setup: line (an A record that resolves to the same addresses we serve from also passes). DNS changes can take up to an hour to spread, so the usual fix is to wait and check again.
What to do
- Open Settings and go to the Your own domain section of the White Label card.
- Read the DNS setup: line and note the address it names.
- At your DNS provider, open the record you added and confirm two things: the host is exactly the subdomain you claimed, and the target is exactly that address, with no typing mistakes and no extra text.
- Save any correction, then wait. Up to an hour is normal.
- Come back and click Check DNS.
When the check passes you see DNS verified ✓, the badge changes from WAITING FOR DNS to DNS VERIFIED, and the certificate for your domain is requested automatically at the same moment. Nothing else is needed from you.
Why the check can fail
- The record has not spread yet. This is by far the most common reason, and the message says so: Not pointing at us yet. DNS can take up to an hour.
- The host name on the record does not match the subdomain you claimed.
- The target is not the address in the DNS setup: line.
- The lookup itself did not answer. Any lookup problem counts as not verified, so a record that has just been edited can read as failing for a short while.
The amber WAITING FOR DNS badge does not break anything. Your pages keep working on the Legiit Leads address the whole time, and they switch over as soon as the check passes.
